PARK(ing) Day

September 19 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Park(ing Day) is an annual global re-visioning of urban public space that was developed in 2005. The event encourages community members, small businesses, cultural institutions, students, and more to transform metered parking spaces into temporary park-lets. Its purpose is to celebrate public spaces in a way that everyone can enjoy. This is a great opportunity to promote a neighborhood business through partnership with a local cultural institution.

This year, Downtown Bridgeport will participate in Park(ing) day on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00pm.

Each year, we invite six to eight street-level businesses to participate. Each business is paired with a performer or cultural institution to offer engaging activities in the parking space in front of the venue. There is no cost to participate to the business. The Bridgeport DSSD compensates the cultural performers and activators for their participation in the event. We ask that participating businesses consider offering a special drink, appetizer, meal discount, or some other incentive to patrons of the park-let parking space.
